Schloss Kempfenhausen | Weddings & Events

Schloss Kempfenhausen is one of the most exciting addresses at Lake Starnberg when a place should not only look beautiful but also really function. The castle is located at Berg am Milchberg 11 and combines a historic atmosphere with a clear, modern use as an event house. Those who come here are usually looking for more than just a room: they seek a special setting for weddings, a stylish place for seminars, a cultural backdrop with character, or a location suitable for photos, celebrations, and encounters alike. This exact mix makes Schloss Kempfenhausen so attractive. It is publicly accessible, operated by the Health Department of the City of Munich, and can be rented for seminars, celebrations, weddings, and cultural events. At the same time, it is considered the only castle at Lake Starnberg available to the public, which significantly increases its search value and appeal. The combination of castle, outdoor area, old trees, and chapel gives the location a distinctive profile that clearly sets it apart from many other event venues in the region. ([starnbergammersee.de](https://www.starnbergammersee.de/detail/id%3D6076abf307bca56b2082f24f))

From an SEO perspective, several strong search intentions converge here: people want to know if civil weddings can take place there, what the knights' hall looks like, what events are held, whether parking is available, and how to get to Lake Starnberg. That is precisely why a keyword strategy at Schloss Kempfenhausen is worthwhile, intelligently connecting wedding, knights' hall, events, access, parking, photos, and Christmas market. Additionally, the cultural activities on-site appeal to a broad target audience, as the castle is not only a wedding venue but also a stage for concerts, readings, exhibitions, and seasonal formats. The public accessibility, barrier-free access, and flexibly rentable spaces make the location practical, while the historic setting feels emotional. This creates a place that is convincing for both private occasions and cultural and professional formats. Wedding at Schloss Kempfenhausen: Civil Registry, Knights' Hall, and Castle Meadow

Those searching for schloss kempfenhausen wedding or schloss kempfenhausen civil registry primarily want a clear answer: Yes, civil weddings are possible there. According to the City of Munich, it has been possible since 2016 to have civil weddings conducted by the civil registry office of the municipality of Berg at Schloss Kempfenhausen. Two areas are available for this, namely the knights' hall with a small hall and the castle meadow, which has been usable since August 2020. For appointment inquiries, the civil registry office of the municipality of Berg is responsible first, before the castle organizes the actual rental. The rental fee for a civil wedding is 450 euros for three hours in the knights' hall with a small hall or in the outdoor area of the castle meadow. Cleaning before and after the wedding as well as basic seating in the knights' hall are already included. This clearly regulated structure is important for couples because it creates planning security and makes the location calculable. ([stadt.muenchen.de](https://stadt.muenchen.de/infos/veranstaltungshaus-kempfenhausen.html))

Particularly interesting is that Schloss Kempfenhausen not only offers the classic civil wedding framework but also allows for different forms of weddings. The knights' hall is available for free weddings; the usage fee is 600 euros. Religious weddings take place in the St. Anna Chapel, which is closely connected to the ensemble. This creates a rare advantage for couples: civil, free, and religious forms are conceivable at one location or directly in the immediate vicinity. The castle is thus suitable for a complete wedding day without long distances or breaks in style between the stations. The outdoor area with the castle meadow also offers significant added value for photos and reception situations. Especially for search queries around schloss kempfenhausen wedding or schloss kempfenhausen knights' hall, this versatility is the central argument because it combines romantic atmosphere with organizational reliability. ([stadt.muenchen.de](https://stadt.muenchen.de/infos/veranstaltungshaus-kempfenhausen.html))

The location at Lake Starnberg further supports this wedding character. The place is not only historic but also strongly charged in terms of landscape: old trees, a spacious outdoor area, and proximity to the water create a backdrop that works equally well for ceremonies and portrait photos. Those seeking a wedding with quiet elegance will find here not an overloaded event architecture but a historic castle with genuine charisma. This is precisely what attracts couples who value atmosphere but still want to plan practically. Additionally, a viewing is possible by prior appointment, which facilitates the decision-making phase. For wedding searches, Schloss Kempfenhausen is therefore a location that convinces in pictures, is clearly regulated on paper, and offers multiple forms of weddings at one place. Events, Concerts, and Cultural Program

Schloss Kempfenhausen is significantly more than a wedding venue. The municipal information describes it as an event house of the Health Department that can be rented for seminar events, weddings, family celebrations, religious and free weddings, Christmas parties, anniversaries, and cultural events. This breadth is particularly important from an SEO perspective because it directly links the search term schloss kempfenhausen events with real uses. The castle thus fulfills a dual function: on the one hand, it is a representative place for private occasions, and on the other hand, a platform for culture and exchange. For companies, associations, and cultural initiatives, this is attractive because the setting appears high-quality but is also not sterile. Especially in combination with seminars and conferences, a profile emerges that goes beyond mere event romance. The castle is a place where encounters, content, and atmosphere come together. ([stadt.muenchen.de](https://stadt.muenchen.de/infos/veranstaltungshaus-kempfenhausen.html))

The current cultural usage can be substantiated very concretely. On the pages of the City of Munich, classical and literary formats, Orff evenings, and exhibitions are announced in the knights' hall, among other things. The cultural association Berg explicitly names musical and literary events at Schloss Kempfenhausen as a fixed part of its program, and KunstRäume am See also holds events at this address. Additionally, there are regional references to jazz and concert evenings as well as open-air formats in the castle park. For the search terms concert schloss kempfenhausen and seejazz festival schloss kempfenhausen 9 aug, this is important because potential visitors are not only looking for an abstract event location but specifically for a place for cultural programs, seasonal concerts, and special evenings by the lake. The mix of castle ambiance and musical use gives the place a lively, non-museum-like aura. ([stadt.muenchen.de](https://stadt.muenchen.de/infos/veranstaltungshaus-kempfenhausen.html))

Especially the regional cultural work further strengthens the location. The cultural association Berg describes Berg am Starnberger See as a cultural ground and refers to events at Schloss Kempfenhausen as part of the vibrant cultural scene on-site. This makes it clear that the castle is not an isolated rental place but is integrated into an active network of music, literature, and regional identity. Therefore, those searching for photos or program content will not only encounter a beautiful facade but a genuinely used cultural space. This is valuable for content and SEO because a location with real use and regular programming appears more credible than a purely decorative event venue. Schloss Kempfenhausen is thus ideal for people looking for events in an environment that is both representative, cultural, and approachable. ([kulturverein-berg.de](https://kulturverein-berg.de/))

Knights' Hall, Seminar Rooms, and Capacity

When it comes to the knights' hall and room structure, Schloss Kempfenhausen provides very concrete information. According to the Region StarnbergAmmersee, the location has seven conference rooms ranging from 26.2 to 104.8 square meters and accommodates up to 100 people. Seating is possible in several variants, including parliamentary, U-shape, square, circle, and row seating. This flexibility is crucial for search queries like schloss kempfenhausen knights' hall or schloss kempfenhausen events because it shows that the castle is not only beautiful but also flexibly planable. The municipal room overview additionally lists Stube 1, Stube 2, Stube 3, Seminar Room 1, Seminar Room 2, Seminar Room 3, as well as the knights' hall with a small hall. Therefore, those looking for a location for smaller meetings or larger celebrations will find various sizes and atmospheres under one roof. ([starnbergammersee.de](https://www.starnbergammersee.de/detail/id%3D6076abf307bca56b2082f24f))

The equipment is geared towards practical use. The technology includes a permanently installed projector, a mobile projector, a mobile screen, a moderation case, and two flip charts. Additionally, there is a tea kitchen and a catering kitchen available. This is an important point for events because it ensures not only emotional impact but also organizational efficiency. The City of Munich also points out a disabled toilet and an elevator. The castle can be rented for individual rooms or entirely, catering to different budgets and event sizes. Depending on the needs, prices range from individual rooms starting at 180 euros to the entire castle for celebrations at 1,500 euros, including outdoor areas; for use as a whole for seminars, the fee is 2,400 euros. These figures are not only practical but also SEO-relevant because they answer frequently searched information about capacity, price, and room offerings. ([stadt.muenchen.de](https://stadt.muenchen.de/service/info/veranstaltungsraeume-im-schloss-kempfenhausen/10139708/n0/))

For planning an event, it is also important that the castle is not tied to a fixed caterer. According to the city, all caterers are welcome, which offers great freedom, especially for weddings and corporate events. Glasses, dishes, and cutlery are available, but according to the information, only for seminar operations and not for events. This means: The castle is flexible but still clearly structured. Organizers can utilize the atmosphere of the house while integrating their own service providers. This openness is one of the reasons why Schloss Kempfenhausen remains interesting for diverse formats, from workshops to private celebrations to cultural evenings. Those looking for a space that is simultaneously historic, representative, and functional will find a convincing overall package here. Access, Parking, and Barrier-Free Access

The address is clear and simple: Schloss Kempfenhausen, Milchberg 11, 82335 Berg. For the search intention schloss kempfenhausen access, this is the most important basic information. On-site, according to the City of Munich, 18 parking spaces are available, including 2 barrier-free parking spaces. Additional parking spaces can be rented externally upon request. Additionally, the city mentions step-free access, disabled parking, and the barrier-free accessibility of all floors and rooms. The Region StarnbergAmmersee adds that the rooms are accessible via an elevator. This makes the castle very well equipped for guests with limited mobility. For many planners, this is a crucial factor because weddings, conferences, and cultural evenings today should be organized as inclusively and comfortably as possible. The place is thus not only picturesque but also pragmatic and well accessible. ([stadt.muenchen.de](https://stadt.muenchen.de/service/info/veranstaltungsraeume-im-schloss-kempfenhausen/10139708/n0/))

The connection to public transport is also relevant. The municipal website refers to access via MVV, and in the MVV stop directory, Kempfenhausen, Milchberg is listed as a stop. This is important for visitors who do not want to arrive by car or who want to reach a wedding, concert, or conference without searching for parking. Especially at Lake Starnberg, this is a plus because excursion traffic and event traffic can coincide on beautiful days. Therefore, those searching for schloss kempfenhausen parking should consider the available spaces early, discuss additional external parking for larger groups, and include the arrival by MVV in the invitation or registration information. This simplifies planning and avoids stress on the event day. ([stadt.muenchen.de](https://stadt.muenchen.de/service/info/veranstaltungsraeume-im-schloss-kempfenhausen/10139708/n0/?utm_source=openai))

The practical advantage of this location is that Schloss Kempfenhausen combines the tranquility of a lakeside location with the accessibility of the region. The castle is located in Berg-Kempfenhausen, an area that is both scenically attractive and well-connected in terms of traffic. For guests coming from outside, orientation is relatively easy: clear address, publicly documented access, and available parking spaces. For organizers, this is often more valuable than spectacular but complicated access solutions. Especially for weddings and cultural events, the first impression already counts upon arrival, and here the combination of a good address, parking space, and barrier-free infrastructure helps. Thus, the location is not only beautiful but also practical. ([stadt.muenchen.de](https://stadt.muenchen.de/service/info/veranstaltungsraeume-im-schloss-kempfenhausen/10139708/n0/))

History of Schloss Kempfenhausen and St. Anna Chapel

The historical depth is one of the strongest reasons why Schloss Kempfenhausen appears so unique. The history dates back to the 16th century; in 1520, the manor was built by the Munich mayor and member of the Inner Council Arsatius Part. In 1678, Elector Ferdinand Maria acquired the castles of Berg, Kempfenhausen, and Possenhofen to celebrate baroque festivals there and on the floating hunting castle Buzentaur. Between 1837 and 1850, Kempfenhausen was owned by Duke Max in Bavaria, and in 1909, Otto Graf Bylandt purchased the castle and altered it in the spirit of historicism. This sequence shows that the castle is not just a pretty house but a place with multiple layers of Bavarian history. For content and SEO, this is enormously valuable because history is particularly strong when it does not remain abstract but has concrete owners, renovations, and uses. ([stadt.muenchen.de](https://stadt.muenchen.de/infos/veranstaltungshaus-kempfenhausen.html))

The more recent history is also important for the current usage concept. From 1950 to 1970, the City of Munich operated a lung clinic there on behalf of the federal government. In 1970, the city purchased the area and continued the Municipal Hospital Kempfenhausen on the premises with the cardiology department; at that time, employees of the hospital lived in the castle. In 1980, the hospital was closed, cardiology moved to Bogenhausen, and the castle continued to serve as living space and event venue. Between 2010 and 2012, the entire estate was renovated and rebuilt before reopening in July 2012. This transformation explains why Schloss Kempfenhausen today mediates so well between monument protection, public use, and event operation. It is a historical place that does not stand still but has been consciously developed further. ([stadt.muenchen.de](https://stadt.muenchen.de/infos/veranstaltungshaus-kempfenhausen.html))

The historical complex also includes the St. Anna Chapel, which is closely connected to the castle. According to the city, its origins likely date back to the Middle Ages; a bell in the tower bears the year 1506. Between 1716 and 1774, the chapel was decorated in the Rococo style by the then castle lord Johann Baptist Pirchinger, and the ceiling paintings are by Christian Wink. Today, services take place there every second Thursday of the month at 6:30 PM. For religious weddings, the chapel is therefore not only a structural annex but a living part of the place. In connection with the castle, it creates an ensemble that is historically credible, architecturally independent, and atmospherically very strong for many occasions. ([stadt.muenchen.de](https://stadt.muenchen.de/infos/veranstaltungshaus-kempfenhausen.html))

Photos, Atmosphere, and Why the Location is So Special

Those searching for schloss kempfenhausen photos usually want to get an impression of whether the location truly lives up to its promises. Here, the official descriptions help particularly well, as they speak of a spacious outdoor area, old trees, and a chapel. The ensemble does not appear as a neutral multipurpose building but as a grown historical place with character. Especially the knights' hall, the bay window, and the outdoor areas strongly shape the perception. This is ideal for weddings because there are different visual worlds in one place: indoor spaces with historical flair, outdoor areas for receptions, and the garden backdrop for photos. The Region StarnbergAmmersee additionally emphasizes that the outdoor area and ambiance are exceptional and that the castle is still publicly available today. This combination makes the location visually and contextually very strong. ([starnbergammersee.de](https://www.starnbergammersee.de/detail/id%3D6076abf307bca56b2082f24f))

The special effect also arises from the location by the lake. In Berg am Starnberger See, landscape, history, and culture come together in a confined space. This is emotionally relevant for visitors because the place does not seem arbitrary but has a clear regional reference. The cultural association Berg describes the location as part of a vibrant cultural ground, and the current event announcements show that the castle is not just a backdrop but an active part of cultural life. This genuine use distinguishes Schloss Kempfenhausen from places that are only open for a few occasions. Here, one can very concretely imagine a wedding, a concert, a reading, or a seminar. This also helps with image searches because the location cannot be reduced to a single motif but tells a coherent story from many perspectives. ([kulturverein-berg.de](https://kulturverein-berg.de/))

This mix is also crucial for reviews. When visitors evaluate the castle, it is not just about rooms but about atmosphere, accessibility, organization, and whether a place feels suitable for their occasion. The official information provides a strong foundation for this: clear usage possibilities, barrier-free access, flexible caterer choice, available parking spaces, historical substance, and the possibility to celebrate weddings in the knights' hall, on the castle meadow, or in the chapel. This creates a place that looks good in photos and is equally convincing in real-life operations. Therefore, those searching for schloss kempfenhausen reviews usually find references to exactly these points: beautiful surroundings, special atmosphere, and versatile use. The castle is not a loudly staged event location but an elegant, quiet, and simultaneously lively address with a genuine unique selling point at Lake Starnberg.

It's beautiful, and if you're not in therapy, you can take a walk in the clinic's park and relax. This relaxation is very pleasant and good for depression. There's also a cafeteria where you can buy various cakes and sandwiches. There's also a hair salon and a nail salon.

An absolute highlight! The Knights' Hall is wonderful, and the surrounding area provides a fantastic atmosphere for a civil wedding ceremony. I'm thrilled. The registrar was a wonderful, approachable woman who not only conducted a beautiful ceremony but also shared personal and heartfelt words with humor! I can honestly recommend it!
