Catholic Daycare Center St. Nikolaus | Reviews & Photos
The Catholic Daycare Center St. Nikolaus in Herrsching am Ammersee is much more than just a place of care for many families. Publicly available entries locate the children's center at Mitterweg 20 in 82211 Herrsching and describe it as a facility with nursery, kindergarten, and after-school care. The age range offered, according to profiles, is from 10 months to 10 years, with regular hours from Monday to Friday from 7 AM to 5 PM. Additionally, there are early and late care options, barrier-free access, lunch, and all-day care. For parents seeking reliability, closeness, and a clear structure in their daily lives, this combination of practical organization and Catholic orientation is particularly relevant. The guiding principles are described as being shaped by the Catholic faith, while inclusion, intercultural education, and an open or semi-open concept are also in focus. ([portal.little-bird.de](https://portal.little-bird.de/Herrsching/Kinderzentrum-St-Nikolaus?utm_source=openai))
Reviews, Photos, and First Impressions for Families
The provided reviews paint a very consistent picture: Several parents praise the dedicated educators, the loving attention to the children, and the warm, friendly atmosphere. The good facilities, age-appropriate toys, and an active parents' council are also highlighted. In another review, it is emphasized that the child feels very comfortable since starting care. For the search intent behind keywords related to reviews, this is particularly important, as many families are not looking for empty advertising promises but for credible impressions from everyday life. When parents search for reviews of a daycare center, it is usually about trust: Are children seen? Is there structure? Does the facility appear open, friendly, and reliable? The available feedback answers these questions very clearly and is extremely positive.
Also, regarding photos, a typical pattern emerges: Families want to gain a visual impression in advance to better assess the rooms, atmosphere, and external appearance. Although the children's center is listed in public directories with a map, contact details, and service features, the Little-Bird entry currently does not display a profile picture. At the same time, the family app Starnberg lists the facility with address, phone, and website. This allows a reasonable conclusion to be drawn that the digital presence is primarily functionally oriented: Parents can quickly find contact information, location, and basic data, while an extensive image archive is not the main focus. For search queries regarding photos, this means: The first digital impression is more factual and information-oriented than emotionally staged, which suits a facility that primarily convinces through care, values, and everyday life. ([portal.little-bird.de](https://portal.little-bird.de/Herrsching/Kinderzentrum-St-Nikolaus?utm_source=openai))
Address, Directions, and Location on Mitterweg in Herrsching
The facility is located at Mitterweg 20 in Herrsching am Ammersee. In public administration and regional directories, it is listed as a firmly established children's center in the area; the district office of Starnberg refers to it as KIZ St. Nikolaus with nursery, kindergarten, and after-school care. For families from Herrsching and the surrounding districts, this location is practical in everyday life because the facility is situated in a well-developed community context and can be found through known contact points. The parish community Ammersee-Ost also lists the children's center among its facilities and names Ms. Petra Buchinger as the educational director. This provides orientation when parents are looking for not only the location but also the organizational integration. ([lk-starnberg.de](https://www.lk-starnberg.de/index.php?FID=613.931.1&ModID=9&NavID=613.4343&object=tx%2C613.4096.1&utm_source=openai))
For directions, it is particularly important that Mitterweg also appears as a stop or route reference in the MVV context. The published timetable of the regional bus line 950 lists Mitterweg in Herrsching as a station, which emphasizes the connection to public transport. Especially during drop-off and pick-up times, this is a real advantage for families, as routes become more predictable and the facility is accessible not only by car but also by bus and train. For local orientation, it is also relevant that Herrsching, as an Ammersee community, has a developed infrastructure. The children's center is thus situated in an environment that can connect families, daycare life, and commuting routes. Since publicly accessible sources do not provide a detailed parking description of the facility, the safest practical tip for parents is: check the route briefly via known contact channels before the first appointment and, if necessary, verify public transport connections. This way, the journey can be organized realistically and stress-free. ([efa.mvv-muenchen.de](https://efa.mvv-muenchen.de/ttb2/mvv_19950___H_s26_1.pdf?utm_source=openai))
Opening Hours, Nursery, Kindergarten, and After-School Care
Regarding the search interest around opening hours, the Catholic Daycare Center St. Nikolaus is clearly structured. The district office of Starnberg states that the children's center has care hours from Monday to Friday between 7 AM and 5 PM. The Little-Bird portal adds early care from 7 AM to 7:30 AM and late care from 4:30 PM to 5 PM. For parents who need to leave for work early or have a longer commute, this staggered schedule is particularly relevant. It shows that the facility is not only designed for the classic daycare day but also takes into account the everyday lives of working families. At the same time, the framework remains clear and reliable: The week is organized, the times are fixed, and the care follows a comprehensible structure. ([lk-starnberg.de](https://www.lk-starnberg.de/index.php?FID=613.931.1&ModID=9&NavID=613.4343&object=tx%2C613.4096.1&utm_source=openai))
The offerings themselves are broad. The official entry mentions nursery, kindergarten, and after-school care, which are three central care components that can accompany families through several developmental phases. Additionally, an age range of 10 months to 10 years is indicated, making the facility attractive for very different life stages. Especially in the rural and commuter-oriented area around Herrsching, this continuity is a practical advantage: Children can stay in a familiar environment even as they transition from nursery age to kindergarten and later to after-school care. According to Little-Bird, lunch and all-day care are also part of the profile. For the search intent behind terms like nursery, kindergarten, and after-school care, this means: Parents are not only looking for a place but a reliable everyday solution. The Catholic Daycare Center St. Nikolaus is precisely aimed at this and connects different forms of care with a consistent location. ([portal.little-bird.de](https://portal.little-bird.de/Herrsching/Kinderzentrum-St-Nikolaus?utm_source=openai))
Educational Concept, Values, and Everyday Life
The educational profile of the children's center is clearly shaped by Catholic values while being contemporarily oriented. The Little-Bird portal lists inclusion, intercultural education, an open or semi-open concept, and a situation-oriented approach as special focuses. This means in everyday life: Children are not simply pressed into rigid processes but are meant to move within a framework that connects freedom and orientation. Particularly important is the idea of giving each child as much freedom as possible and as much support as necessary. This attitude fits well with families looking for a facility where relationships, observation, and individual development are taken seriously. The fact that the guiding principles are shaped by the Catholic faith adds a values basis to the educational profile, which represents a conscious decision criterion for many parents. ([portal.little-bird.de](https://portal.little-bird.de/Herrsching/Kinderzentrum-St-Nikolaus?utm_source=openai))
Additionally, there are further everyday features that are often decisive for the quality of a daycare center. The facility is listed as barrier-free, offers lunch, and provides all-day care. It is also described as a Jolinchen daycare, emphasizing the focus on health, movement, and nutrition. The profile texts additionally emphasize that children should experience nature and the environment with all their senses. This combination makes everyday life tangible: not just care, but experience; not just storage, but education; not just organization, but development. For parents, this is a strong signal because it shows that the facility is well-rounded both educationally and practically. Therefore, those looking for a place where values, independence, movement, and a safe framework come together will find a credible and clearly described foundation here. ([portal.little-bird.de](https://portal.little-bird.de/Herrsching/Kinderzentrum-St-Nikolaus?utm_source=openai))
Trainers, Contact, and Registration
Organizationally, the children's center is closely integrated into the local Catholic structure. The Catholic Parish Foundation St. Nikolaus is named as the sponsor. The parish community Ammersee-Ost also lists the children's center in its overview of facilities and mentions the educational leadership by Ms. Petra Buchinger. This is important for parents because it clarifies who is responsible and whom to contact for organizational questions. The district office also provides the phone number 08152 993300 and the email address kita.st.nikolaus.herrsching@bistum-augsburg.de. The Caritas address additionally refers to info@kinderzentrum-herrsching.de as well as the sponsor based in Herrsching. This creates a comprehensible picture of responsibilities and contact paths. ([pg-ammersee-ost.de](https://www.pg-ammersee-ost.de/kindergaerten.html?utm_source=openai))
For registration and initial contact, this means primarily one thing: Parents find several official points of contact that represent the same location. This is helpful when inquiring about a spot, understanding the educational approach, or coordinating organizational details. The family app Starnberg and the district office show that the facility is present in regional information systems, while the Little-Bird portal supports access through digital care management. Therefore, those searching for terms like registration, contact, or sponsor are actually looking for security in the process. This security is precisely what the public appearance of the facility conveys: clear address, fixed opening hours, unambiguous sponsorship, and a pedagogically described profile. For families planning long-term, this is a stable foundation and an important part of the decision for a daycare spot in Herrsching.
Our children are in very good hands here. The educators are extremely dedicated and lovingly attend to the children's needs. The atmosphere in the kindergarten is warm and friendly, which has made the transition from home to childcare much easier for our little ones. The facilities are well-equipped and offer a wide range of opportunities for creative play and learning. A very committed parents' council and the kindergarten management form a successful partnership that strengthens the sense of community and actively contributes to the positive development of the facility.

A very nice facility with highly trained teachers who always pay close attention to the children and are committed to shaping their daily routine. My son has felt very comfortable since daycare and now in kindergarten.

The nursery and kindergarten are lovely and equipped with age-appropriate toys. The caregivers are very kind, attentive to the children, and well-trained. My children felt very comfortable there. Unfortunately, we had to switch due to a move.

Garbage. Please NEVER send your child there unless you want them to get dry rice and come home hungry. And the staff couldn't care less if they get sick or not; they let them out in 6 degrees Celsius or less without jackets. And if two or more children are fighting, the caregivers just stand there dumbfounded and do nothing. A disaster.
