House of Bavarian Agriculture Herrsching | Seminars & Photos

The House of Bavarian Agriculture Herrsching is much more than an address by Lake Ammersee: It is an educational and conference center with its own profile, clear tradition, and a location that combines work and relaxation in an unusually harmonious way. The website describes the house as a place for education, knowledge, and personal development, highlighting that seminars, conferences, and workshops take place here. At the same time, the special atmosphere remains palpable: The house is located on the eastern shore of Lake Ammersee, about 40 kilometers southwest of Munich, and embodies the guiding principle of education plus encounter. This combination of professional ambition, meeting space, and nature-oriented surroundings makes the location particularly interesting for event planners, seminar participants, and guests. ([hdbl-herrsching.de](https://www.hdbl-herrsching.de/))

For SEO planning, search interests can be derived primarily from topics related to seminar programs, conference house, seminar rooms, rooms, access, and parking. Additionally, Herrschinger basic course, Lake Ammersee, events, workshops, agricultural historical library, and image searches for photos play an important role. The strengths of the house lie not only in a clear thematic focus on education and agriculture but also in practical questions that are particularly relevant for guests: How do I get there? How many people fit in the rooms? How are the rooms equipped? What can one experience on-site and in the surrounding area? These questions structure the content naturally and precisely address the search intent behind the keyword set. ([hdbl-herrsching.de](https://www.hdbl-herrsching.de/))

Seminar Program, Events, and Herrschinger Basic Course

The current offerings of the house clearly show that education is not understood here as a rigid framework, but as a lively program with different target groups. On the homepage, several formats are listed under the section Current News from Herrsching, including Bootcamp Local Politics, For Queens and Highnesses, How to Start Well in Local Politics, Organizer Plus, Mother-Child Leisure, Information Afternoons for the Herrschinger Basic Course 2027, a rhetoric seminar, and further offerings from the areas of personality, strong in volunteer work, and entrepreneurial success. This makes it clear that the house not only hosts classic conferences but also offers a wide-ranging educational program for people from agriculture, volunteer work, politics, communication, and personal development. ([hdbl-herrsching.de](https://www.hdbl-herrsching.de/))

Particularly influential is the Herrschinger Basic Course, which repeatedly plays an important role in the external presentation of the house. The Bavarian Farmers' Association describes Herrsching as an educational and conference center on Lake Ammersee, where personal and professional development has been taking place for decades. It is also mentioned that there are more than 100 events per year, which underscores the continuity and density of the program. The house is thus not an occasional event venue but a permanent learning and meeting place with an agricultural core. The official history page reminds us that today's offerings trace back to the first Bavarian farmers' school and that the fundamental idea of the basic courses has remained the same to this day: to prepare young adults in agriculture for future tasks in family, business, state, and society. ([bayerischerbauernverband.de](https://www.bayerischerbauernverband.de/haus-der-bayerischen-landwirtschaft))

For seekers, this mixture of tradition and modernity is important. Those searching for seminar programs, events, or basic courses want to know not only that something exists but also what direction the house has. Herrsching provides a clear answer: Here, topics from the practice of agriculture are addressed just as much as questions about communication, leadership, community, and personal development. The fact that the website also features international formats, such as the International Seminar for Leaders in Youth Work, organized since 1962, shows the regional significance of the house. This is also SEO-relevant because it increases the authority of the location and explains why the house remains so interesting for educational institutions, associations, and organized groups. ([hdbl-herrsching.de](https://www.hdbl-herrsching.de/en/internationales-seminar/?utm_source=openai))

Seminar Rooms, Conference Rooms, and Room Concepts

Those searching for the location from the perspective of a conference house or seminar rooms will find very concrete, useful information in Herrsching. The house advertises flexible room concepts, state-of-the-art media technology, and an environment designed for focused work. On the official seminar rooms page, the rooms are listed by size and seating arrangement: The large hall measures 330 m² and offers space for 210 people in parliamentary seating, 180 in U-shape, and 300 in theater seating, depending on the setup. In addition, there are conference rooms, seminar rooms 1 to 9, a studio, a handicraft room, a meditation room, and a library. Thus, the house is not limited to a single type of event but can accommodate large plenary formats as well as smaller workshops, group work, or quiet working settings. ([hdbl-herrsching.de](https://www.hdbl-herrsching.de/tagungshaus/seminarraeume/))

Particularly interesting is the range of room sizes. According to the official page, the event and seminar rooms range from 30 to 330 m², from very compact formats to a representative large space. The large hall has a parquet floor, as does the conference room, while several seminar rooms are carpeted. This indicates a conscious differentiation depending on the type of use: more formal lectures, focused workshops, group work, or quiet discussion formats can each be accommodated appropriately. The website additionally emphasizes the free basic equipment with pinboards, flipcharts, projectors, screens, and moderation cases. Such details are often more important for conference planners than marketing clichés because they immediately show how much material is already available on-site. ([hdbl-herrsching.de](https://www.hdbl-herrsching.de/tagungshaus/seminarraeume/))

The spatial atmosphere is also part of the concept. On the conference house page, there is talk of professionally equipped rooms with plenty of light and views of greenery. The formulations on the website make it clear that the house focuses on open, flexible, and communicative learning spaces. This approach fits the guiding principle of education plus encounter and explains why the location is suitable for seminars, workshops, and longer training sessions. In practice, this means: Here, one can not only hold lectures but also sit in a circle, form groups, use media, design breaks meaningfully, and combine different room types within one house. This is exactly what makes the location attractive for organizers looking for a place with professional infrastructure and human closeness. ([hdbl-herrsching.de](https://www.hdbl-herrsching.de/tagungshaus/))

Rooms, Accommodation, and Service

A conference house is only truly convincing if it also works well for overnight stays, relaxation, and daily organization. The House of Bavarian Agriculture Herrsching meets this requirement with 88 guest rooms, including 67 single and 21 double rooms. Each room is comfortably furnished according to the official website and has Wi-Fi throughout the house. Notably, there is a conscious decision to forgo televisions in the rooms. The house does not see this as a sacrifice but as an invitation to encounter: Guests are encouraged to interact in the winter garden or the beer parlor, engage in conversation, and experience the house as a social space. ([hdbl-herrsching.de](https://www.hdbl-herrsching.de/zimmer/unsere-zimmer/))

For practical SEO searches for rooms and hotel characteristics, additional offerings are also important. Upon request, allergy-friendly or barrier-free rooms can be booked. This makes the location also planable for groups with special needs. The conference house area also highlights all-inclusive packages that include accommodation, meals, and beverages in the conference room. The Bavarian Farmers' Association additionally refers to a certified organic kitchen, opportunities for interaction on the Wiesenterrace and in the beer parlor, and a house that consciously does not appear like an anonymous conference hotel. Instead, the image of an educational house with quality of stay emerges, where work, food, conversation, and relaxation are not thought of separately. ([bayerischerbauernverband.de](https://www.bayerischerbauernverband.de/haus-der-bayerischen-landwirtschaft))

From the guests' perspective, this also results in a coherent overall picture. The rooms are more functional than luxurious, but that fits the concept: Those traveling for seminars, training sessions, or multi-day conferences need peace, good catering, and short distances, not overloaded furnishings. The official description and the testimonials on the website suggest that the house is particularly convincing due to its clear, learning-oriented style. This is complemented by the location in greenery as well as the opportunity to unwind in the winter garden, in the beer parlor, or outside by the lake after a seminar day. For seekers looking for rooms, accommodation, or conference hotels, Herrsching is therefore a very good combination of practicality, atmosphere, and location advantage. ([hdbl-herrsching.de](https://www.hdbl-herrsching.de/zimmer/unsere-zimmer/))

Access, Parking, and E-Charging Station

Regarding access, the house scores with clearly described accessibility. It is located about 40 kilometers southwest of Munich on the eastern shore of Lake Ammersee. With the S-Bahn S8, guests can travel directly from Munich Hbf. or Munich-Pasing to Herrsching, the final station. From there, the lakeside path leads to the house in about 30 minutes on foot. Alternatively, the MVV bus 921 runs several times an hour to Herrsching-Lochschwab; the S-Bahn ticket is also valid on the bus. Those arriving by plane can also take the S8 directly to Herrsching without changing trains. This makes the location equally interesting for regional and non-regional guests. ([hdbl-herrsching.de](https://www.hdbl-herrsching.de/ueber-uns/kontakt/))

Access by car is also well described: Via the A96 Munich-Lindau, take the exits Wörthsee or Inning. Coming from Inning, the house is located 50 meters after the Herrsching town sign; from all other directions, you drive through Herrsching towards Inning. Particularly practical for e-mobility are the e-charging stations directly at the house, which are explicitly mentioned on the contact page. An industry listing also describes a corresponding parking lot with 136 spaces. Thus, while the topic of parking is not quantified on the official website, it is at least concretely visible in an external, conference venue specialized presentation. ([hdbl-herrsching.de](https://www.hdbl-herrsching.de/ueber-uns/kontakt/))

For keyword research, this point is central because many users first search for parking, access, and public transport at event venues before they are interested in the program. The house answers these questions comparatively transparently and with useful details. Those traveling from Munich have a simple solution with S-Bahn and bus; those arriving by car find the location well described at the town entrance; those driving electrically can charge directly. Overall, the house appears not only as a content-rich but also as a logistical conference center. This everyday practicality makes it particularly attractive for seminars, multi-day events, and group trips. ([hdbl-herrsching.de](https://www.hdbl-herrsching.de/ueber-uns/kontakt/))

History, Development, and Education plus Encounter

The history of the house gives the location its own depth. According to the official history, the house traces back to the first Bavarian farmers' school. At the opening on November 30, 1948, the then president of the BBV set a clear educational goal. In 1950, a second educational institution was established with the Women's School at Hartschimmel near Pähl, in 1951 the farmers' school moved to Herrsching on Lake Ammersee, and in 1957 a separate school for farmers' wives was planned at the current location. In 1976, a larger expansion was added, further developing the educational center of the Bavarian Farmers' Association. This development already shows that Herrsching is not an arbitrarily chosen location but a learning site that has grown over decades with an agricultural core. ([hdbl-herrsching.de](https://www.hdbl-herrsching.de/en/ueber-uns/geschichte-unseres-hauses/))

Another milestone was the general modernization in 2005/2006. At that time, it was not only about a new name but also about securing the content and economic future. The construction phase created versatile conference options and retained the atrium-like character of the house with light-filled rooms and large window fronts. In 2014, a new standard was set with the large hall that meets modern requirements, and in 2020, another renovation followed with controlled fresh air supply in many seminar rooms, modernized lounges, and a new library room with a special focus on the agricultural historical collection. This continuity of care, renewal, and identity makes the location credible and particularly interesting for seekers of history and special features. ([hdbl-herrsching.de](https://www.hdbl-herrsching.de/en/ueber-uns/geschichte-unseres-hauses/))

The guiding principle of education plus encounter runs like a red thread through the entire external presentation. It connects professional learning with the desire for exchange, community, and personal development. The Bavarian Farmers' Association describes Herrsching as a place where people meet, broaden their horizons, and learn and teach in a pleasant atmosphere. At the same time, the connection to agriculture, further education, and rural areas remains always visible. This mixture distinguishes the house from neutral congress venues. It is not just a shell for events but a place with a grown attitude, historical memory, and a clear educational mandate that continues to this day. ([bayerischerbauernverband.de](https://www.bayerischerbauernverband.de/haus-der-bayerischen-landwirtschaft))

Lake Ammersee, Leisure, Agricultural Historical Library, and Surroundings

The location by Lake Ammersee is more than just a pretty backdrop for photos. The official leisure page describes the lake as the third largest lake in Bavaria, 16 kilometers long, 6 kilometers wide, and 81 meters deep. From Herrsching, guests can stroll along Germany's longest lakeside promenade, which is about 10 kilometers long. Additionally, the lake offers an impressive Alpine panorama in clear weather. This is relevant for seminar guests because it creates an immediate balance after intensive workdays: Walking, cycling, boat trips, or simply spending an evening by the water are almost a matter of course here. The house itself therefore aptly describes Lake Ammersee as a place to breathe after a seminar day. ([hdbl-herrsching.de](https://www.hdbl-herrsching.de/en/freizeit-kultur/ammersee/?utm_source=openai))

Also contributing to the special identity of the location is the Agricultural Historical Library. It houses about 20,000 volumes of specialist literature from agriculture, home economics, forestry, as well as natural sciences, technology, legislation, and administration. The focus is on the 19th and early 20th centuries, thus on material that vividly illustrates historical, professional, and societal developments. The library has found its home in the house and is not only interesting for specialists but also for guests who want to understand the agricultural background of the house. Together with exhibitions, the path of agriculture, and the cultural framework, it becomes clear that Herrsching is not only an educational center but also a place with cultural and historical depth. ([hdbl-herrsching.de](https://www.hdbl-herrsching.de/bildungsprogramm/agrarhistorische-bibliothek/?utm_source=openai))

The leisure offerings within the house itself also strengthen the character of the location. The conference house mentions a gallery with changing exhibitions, the possibility to rent bicycles at the reception, a beer parlor, a bowling alley, a small gym with a treadmill, cross trainer, and table tennis, as well as a club room with a billiard table and foosball. Together with the proximity to Andechs and Lake Ammersee, this creates a complete package that pleasantly complements conferences, training sessions, and longer stays. For the search intent regarding photos, surroundings, and special features, this is particularly important: The house offers not only functional rooms but also experiential moments, nature, culture, and a clear connection to the region. This is exactly why the location in Herrsching remains so memorable and well-positioned. ([bayerischerbauernverband.de](https://www.bayerischerbauernverband.de/haus-der-bayerischen-landwirtschaft))

I was here for a University conference and really enjoyed my stay here. The price was decent for what was included, and everything was great. I guess the rooms weren't amazing (they really aren't; they include a bed and a little bathroom), but they get the job done and are clean. The food, however, was a very positive surprise - we didn't expect Buffett food for mostly students to be so good, but it sure was. We were also very surprised to receive a great selection of snacks after every 2 hour lecture block we had. We were certainly taken care of very well. The location is also great, being just a short distance away from the lake. Nice! Also, the venue offers some fun amenities, like a "Kegelbahn" (German bowling), ping pong, pool, etc.

Beautiful hotel, plenty of parking positions & free of charge, good breakfast, considerable service beyond my expectation! Negative points: far away from town center and no restaurant nearby, WIFI is not reachable in some far rooms.

Was here recently for a conference. Great, simple setup, with good facilities both for talks and for leisure (the "honesty bar" was a hit). Lovely way of keeping a group together in beautiful surroundings.

Nice staff, decent rooms, really good food for the amount of people they have to cater for and they actually have decently working Internet. Great for large companies or other gatherings.

1) There was a catholic cross on a wall in my room, though I am not a Catholic. 2) The equipment of the room with hygiene staff was bad: only 1 big towel and 2 small for a double room, only soap available (no toothbrush, no toothpaste). 3) Sauna zone was not really clean, got ill after staying in this hotel :(:( 4) However, food was tasty.
