Redeemer Church Herrsching | Services & Events
The Redeemer Church Herrsching is much more than a single house of worship: In the Protestant Three Lakes Community, it forms, together with the community center and parish office, the spatial center in Herrsching on Lake Ammersee. The church is located at Madeleine-Ruoff-Straße 2, nestled between Kienbach, old trees, and the atmosphere of the lakeside town. The community website describes the building as friendly, inviting, and classically appealing; thus, those who visit the place experience not only architecture but also a clear, calm center for worship, encounters, and community life. At the same time, the location shows why the Redeemer Church frequently appears in search queries together with the community center, directions, events, and services: Here, a striking church building meets a very vibrant community environment. ([dreiseengemeinde.de](https://dreiseengemeinde.de/?utm_source=openai))
Services, Mini Church, and Current Dates in Herrsching

Depending on the occasion, additional formats such as special musical services, thematic celebrations, or the Mini Church for families are offered. This very mix makes the location highly sought after, as many people are not only looking for a church as a building but for a place with regular spiritual life, for dates, for shared celebrations, and for an atmosphere that goes beyond mere space. Therefore, the Redeemer Church is not only a religious but also a social meeting point where families, seniors, children, and guests repeatedly come together. ([dreiseengemeinde.de](https://www.dreiseengemeinde.de/gottesdienste-der-kirchengemeinde/alle-gottesdienste?utm_source=openai))
Particularly striking is how broad the community's offerings around Herrsching are. The official homepage shows services for all generations, Advent singing, discussion evenings, meditation, seasonal festivals, and continually new formats aimed at people who consciously seek a vibrant place with religious and cultural quality. This is important for the search intent of upcoming events because the Redeemer Church does not appear as a rigid individual object but as a stage for ongoing community life. For example, the homepage announces an Advent singing, a service for all generations, the Herrsching Christmas market around the church, and discussion evenings in the pre-Christmas season. Additionally, the community newsletters and schedules for 2026 include further offerings such as discussion days and music projects. So, those searching for upcoming events at Redeemer Church Herrsching are, in truth, looking for a place where something regularly happens. ([dreiseengemeinde.de](https://dreiseengemeinde.de/?utm_source=openai))
A practical advantage is the atmosphere on site. The community itself points out that the Redeemer Church is not heated, which is why warm clothing is advisable for some events. This may initially sound like a minor detail, but in practice, it is important for visitors as it describes the actual conditions of the place and correctly sets expectations for a church visit throughout the year. Especially during Advent singing, evening events, or special services, this honesty builds trust and aids in planning. Together with the regular service times, the Mini Church, and the changing special formats, a very clear picture emerges: The Redeemer Church Herrsching is a place with fixed rhythms but also with surprising diversity. ([dreiseengemeinde.de](https://dreiseengemeinde.de/?utm_source=openai))
Community Center Herrsching and the Center of the Three Lakes Community
For the search for Redeemer Church and Community Center Herrsching, it is crucial that the ensemble in the community not only stands spatially next to each other but also belongs functionally together. The Protestant Three Lakes Community explicitly describes Herrsching with the church, community center, and parish office as the center of the entire community area. This area extends along the eastern shore of Lake Ammersee from Fischen in the south to Inning in the north; to the west, Andechs, Wörthsee, and Seefeld belong to it. This makes it clear why Herrsching is so important within the community structure: Here, administration, pastoral care, services, and a large part of active community life are concentrated. So, those searching for a community center are not just looking for a space but for an organizational centerpiece. ([dreiseengemeinde.de](https://dreiseengemeinde.de/?utm_source=openai))
In everyday life, this function is reflected in many offerings. The community lists on its website children, youth, families, church music, adult education, meditation, women's work, seniors, grief support, and guest groups as part of its program. This is precisely why the Redeemer Church Herrsching is so interesting for SEO and for visitors: The grounds are not limited to the Sunday service but serve as a hub for very different life situations and target groups. The choir rehearses in the Protestant Community Center Herrsching, currently counts 73 singers, and gives several concerts a year. Such facts make it clear that the community center is much more than a side room of the church. It is a rehearsal space, meeting point, event room, and a place where church and cultural life intersect. ([dreiseengemeinde.de](https://www.dreiseengemeinde.de/kirchenmusik/kantorei?utm_source=openai))
It is precisely in the interplay between the church and community center that the special openness arises that many people appreciate about the Three Lakes Community. The official site repeatedly refers to groups, retreats, discussion series, and music that take place in the community center or in the immediate vicinity. This makes the place relevant for families as well as for culture-interested guests, volunteers, or people simply looking for a quiet, easily accessible place for encounters. The community center in Herrsching is thus not only a complement to the church but part of a larger community architecture where spiritual practice, community, and organizational structure belong together. Therefore, to understand the location, one should always think of the church and community center together. ([dreiseengemeinde.de](https://dreiseengemeinde.de/?utm_source=openai))
Architecture and History of the Redeemer Church Herrsching
The architectural history of the Redeemer Church Herrsching begins with the design by Roderich Fick, whose ensemble of church, community center, and free-standing bell tower is described as the last work of the architect. The official church description emphasizes that Fick lived in Herrsching for a long time and conceived further buildings there. The consecration of the Redeemer Church took place on October 28, 1956; after Fick's death, the construction management was taken over by his wife, Catharina Fick-Büscher. Thus, the church is a building of the post-war period that strongly focuses on place, scale, and integration into the landscape. Therefore, those searching for history and background will find here not only a community address but also a clearly dateable piece of architectural history at Lake Ammersee. ([dreiseengemeinde.de](https://www.dreiseengemeinde.de/erloeserkirche))
The external appearance is vividly described on the community website: The Redeemer Church is built into the local landscape of Herrsching, framed by Kienbach and Lake Ammersee, and appears through its white, unadorned facade as classic, friendly, and inviting. The building is deliberately restrained but by no means arbitrary. Rather, it creates the impression of a church that does not want to appear monumental but is present on a human scale. The interior description makes it clear that symmetry has been avoided and the arcs of the building components are shifted against each other. Large windows ensure brightness, and the baptismal font, altar, and pulpit are highlighted as the centerpiece. This connection of form, light, and liturgical clarity is crucial for the character of the church and explains why visitors often report a calm, focused atmosphere. ([dreiseengemeinde.de](https://www.dreiseengemeinde.de/erloeserkirche))
The furnishings also provide concrete clues to the special quality of the building. The baptismal font is made of red marble from Lake Tegernsee and has a cast bronze cover. The altar is made of Theresian stone marble with white stripes. The current altar cross comes from the sculptor Bernhard Bleeker. Eight years after the consecration, the construction of the church tower began, which was ceremonially consecrated in the summer of 1965. It houses four bells named after the evangelists; they ring immediately before services and on Saturdays at 2:00 PM. These details show that the Redeemer Church functions not only as a gathering place but as a carefully composed church space with precise material selection and a rhythm that is still audible in the everyday life of the place. ([dreiseengemeinde.de](https://www.dreiseengemeinde.de/erloeserkirche))
Therefore, those photographing or viewing the Redeemer Church from the outside perceive more than just a sober post-war church. The ensemble connects the church, community center, and bell tower into a composition that consciously integrates into the local landscape. The official description emphasizes the bright effect of the windows, the classically factual language of the facade, and the calm self-evidence with which the building presents itself in its surroundings. This very mix of restraint and character makes the Redeemer Church Herrsching interesting in the long term: It is not loud but formative; not overloaded but carefully designed; not spectacular in its hunger for effect but strong in its architectural stance. Therefore, for search queries related to history, architecture, bell tower, and special features, it is a high-quality destination with a clear identity. ([dreiseengemeinde.de](https://www.dreiseengemeinde.de/erloeserkirche))
Directions by Train, Bus, and Parking in Herrsching
For practical arrival, the Herrsching train station is an important orientation point. The MVV station information lists the station as barrier-free; access to the S-Bahn is possible without steps, and the platforms are designated with a height of 96 centimeters and a length of 220 meters. This is particularly relevant for elderly people, families with strollers, and visitors with mobility impairments. In addition, the MVV designates the station in zone 3/4. Those visiting the Redeemer Church Herrsching thus benefit from a well-readable public connection in a place that is strongly oriented towards trains and footpaths. ([red.mvv-muenchen.de](https://red.mvv-muenchen.de/plaene-bahnhoefe/bahnhofsinformation/station/herrsching/index.html))
There are also clear facts regarding parking. At the Herrsching train station, the Ladestraße parking lot with 180 parking spaces is available. The MVV specifies clear usage rules: On weekdays, part of the areas is reserved exclusively for public transport customers during the day; later and on weekends, special fees and usage conditions apply; overnight parking is also not allowed. This is helpful for planning a visit to the Redeemer Church, as car and train can be well combined. The MVV location map shows the train station, spa park, parish center, and Redeemer Church in the same town center. This indicates that the church is located in the central Herrsching area and that the walk from the train station can be easily integrated into the town visit. ([red.mvv-muenchen.de](https://red.mvv-muenchen.de/plaene-bahnhoefe/bahnhofsinformation/station/herrsching/index.html))
For the SEO question regarding directions and parking, it is also important that the location is not isolated in an industrial area but in a developed townscape with a church, community center, and public paths. This makes orientation pleasant: Those arriving by train can find their way around the town center relatively quickly; those arriving by car should observe the parking rules of the train station and allow enough time for the walk. The combination of a barrier-free station, park-and-ride offer, and compact location in the town is a practical advantage of the Redeemer Church Herrsching and fits very well with search queries focused on parking, train station, and directions. ([red.mvv-muenchen.de](https://red.mvv-muenchen.de/plaene-bahnhoefe/bahnhofsinformation/station/herrsching/index.html))
Church Music, Advent Singing, and Special Festivals
A central part of the profile of the Redeemer Church Herrsching is church music. The choir of the Three Lakes Community currently counts 73 singers from Herrsching and the surrounding area. It not only shapes liturgical tasks but also gives several concerts a year and rehearses regularly in the Protestant Community Center Herrsching. This makes it clear that the location is used not only for classical services but also for musical events and community experiences. For search queries regarding church music in Herrsching, this is a strong signal: Here, there is a permanent musical life that is closely connected to the community and continually revitalizes the church acoustically and socially. ([dreiseengemeinde.de](https://www.dreiseengemeinde.de/kirchenmusik/kantorei?utm_source=openai))
This is particularly evident in the seasonal offerings. For example, the community website features the Advent Singing at the Redeemer Church Herrsching, accompanied by a brass quartet and organ. The community explicitly points out that the church is not heated, which is why warm clothing is advisable. Such details make a place credible: They not only tell of a beautiful space but of real conditions and a lively program that actively involves visitors. Mini Church, discussion evenings, and other formats are also regularly conducted in and around the church; children can celebrate in the garden behind the Redeemer Church, and in bad weather, activities are moved to the community hall next to the church. ([dreiseengemeinde.de](https://dreiseengemeinde.de/?utm_source=openai))
Moreover, the community website shows that larger festivals and public events also take place around the Redeemer Church. The Herrsching Christmas market is announced around the church, and further dates and encounters take place there during the pre-Christmas season. Together with discussion days, retreats, music projects, and various community groups, a clearly recognizable profile emerges: The Redeemer Church Herrsching is a place where spiritual practice, music, seasons, and community culture mutually reinforce each other. Those looking for a location that not only appears aesthetically pleasing but also offers substantive content will find exactly this interplay here.
The initial impression of this church is rather cold and austere. The atmosphere is created through the service and the people. For special services, the church is even more beautifully decorated. It has a special place in its heart. The large forecourt invites visitors to linger, and the proximity to the S-Bahn (suburban train) and the lake is convenient.

For me, the Church of the Redeemer in Herrsching is simply like home. I was baptized and confirmed there, and it was there that I found my faith. The cool, quiet interior of the church is always an invitation to prayer. And the old wooden cross is still there! It's stood in a corner next to the pulpit since 1979; you can attach small slips of paper to it with a prayer request—or take one off and pray for it. We recently had a retreat day in the parish hall, which offers a simple yet pleasant atmosphere for such a gathering. The location near the lake is, of course, unbeatable.

A rather plain church with a musty smell and noticeably dirty walls. It could use a renovation soon... The staff, however, are young and energetic...
