Augustinum Dießen am Ammersee | Photos & Reviews

The Augustinum Dießen am Ammersee is a senior residence that combines living, service, nature, and culture in a very independent form. Those looking for a place by the Ammersee where everyday life is well organized and a quiet, scenic environment awaits will find a clear answer here. The house is located in Dießen on the southwestern shore of the Ammersee, between Munich and the Bavarian Alps, in the Pfaffenwinkel, and thus in one of the most well-known regions of Upper Bavaria. The official website emphasizes the good transport connections and proximity to everything that is part of daily life, describing the house as a place with short distances, a large park, a public cultural program, and many service offerings directly in the building. This mix makes the residence interesting: it is not only a place to live but also a location with character, views, and a clearly recognizable concept for self-determined living in old age. Photos and First Impression of the Senior Residence

Those who want to get an initial impression online will find an astonishingly broad visual world on the official pages. There are images of green areas at the entrance, the spacious park, the restaurant with a view of the greenery, the stage of the theater hall, the 25-meter pool, floor plans of the levels, and various living and interior situations. The photos are not only decorative but also provide very concrete hints about how the house spatially functions: paths, open spaces, communal places, and service zones interconnect. This already creates a digital impression of tranquility, openness, and good orientation. For people looking for photos, this is important because the outdoor facilities and the interior of the house are not hidden but made visible. Thus, it can already be recognized before the visit that the Augustinum Dießen does not look like a classic hotel, but like a generously organized residential complex with cultural and social life. ([augustinum.de](https://augustinum.de/diessen-am-ammersee/))

Particularly helpful is that the visual representation does not stop at individual rooms. The website also shows the connection between architecture and everyday life: restaurant with park view, theater for concerts and lectures, swimming pool for exercise and relaxation, as well as outdoor areas with a pond, table tennis, and bocce court. This makes the first impression credible and understandable because one does not only see beautiful interiors but a functioning ensemble. Those looking for reviews often want to understand this interplay: What is it like to live there, what is the atmosphere like, what do the paths look like, how far is it to the park or the foyer? The official photos answer such questions indirectly but very clearly. This is complemented by house tours that open the house as a place to get to know and thus allow for a personal impression that goes beyond any screen view. Address, Directions, and Parking at Augustinerberg

The exact address of the house is Am Augustinerberg 1, 86911 Dießen am Ammersee. Even the location name shows that the residence is anchored in an elevated position on the outskirts. The official directions make the approach easy to understand: Coming from Munich, a route leads via the A96 and B12 with the Greifenberg exit further via Utting to Dießen. A second option is the approach via the A95 with the Starnberg exit and then via Andechs and Fischen. For visitors and interested parties, this is a clear advantage because the location is not only beautiful but also logically accessible. Additionally, the location is indicated in the PDF with phone and contact for interested parties' consultation, which simplifies planning an appointment. ([augustinum.de](https://augustinum.de/fileadmin/Standorte/Diessen_am_Ammersee/Standortstartseite/seniorenresidenz-augustinum-diessen-anfahrt.pdf))

The arrival by public transport is also well described. From Munich, one can take the S4 to Geltendorf and transfer there to the passenger train to Dießen. Alternatively, the connection goes via Weilheim by train or bus, and during the months from April to October, the arrival via Herrsching and ship is also mentioned. On-site, the situation is particularly convenient: the town center and the lake with the ship landing stage are within walking distance, there is a bus stop directly in front of the house, and the official FAQ explains that residents can rent parking spaces in all Augustinum senior residences. Depending on the location, these are either on the outdoor grounds or in the underground garage. In Dießen, there is an additional car-sharing parking space directly at the house, which facilitates mobility without a personal car and makes the location even more practical. ([augustinum.de](https://augustinum.de/fileadmin/Standorte/Diessen_am_Ammersee/Standortstartseite/seniorenresidenz-augustinum-diessen-anfahrt.pdf))

Apartments, Amenities, and Daily Service

The housing offer at Augustinum Dießen am Ammersee is tailored to different needs and ranges from 1- to 3-room apartments with 26 to 90 square meters. This targets people who want to live compactly, but also those who prefer more space. A central principle is personal design: residents bring their own furniture and furnish their new home individually. Before moving in, the apartments are renovated, and the technical equipment is brought up to date. This creates not a standardized hotel character but a private living space with a personal touch. The house overview also shows that many important everyday places are accessible within short distances: reception, café, theater, physical therapy, medical treatment rooms, resident service, bank, self-service shop, hairdresser, and library are located in the house or in directly adjacent levels. ([augustinum.de](https://augustinum.de/diessen-am-ammersee/))

The service concept includes several components that make living safer and more relaxed. In all apartments, emergency call buttons are installed, the reception is staffed around the clock, and in case of need, there is support for temporary illness. The official FAQ also explains that pets are welcome, which is an important decision criterion for many interested parties. Additionally, residents can organize services such as pharmacy, optician, hearing aid acoustician, foot care, laundry service, or tailor through the house. The page on services and costs also describes that the pension price can include a daily main meal, regular cleaning, and other services in addition to rent and ancillary costs. This connection of privacy, safety, and practical support shapes the living experience at Augustinum Dießen am Ammersee. ([augustinum.de](https://augustinum.de/diessen-am-ammersee/fragen-antworten/))

History, Location, and Garden Facilities

The Augustinum Dießen am Ammersee is not a newly established place but a grown location with history. The official presentation in the magazine cites the year 1968 as the founding year; at that time, the house was opened as the second senior residence after Munich-Neufriedenheim. The homepage also notes that the house was expanded by a new building in 1985. These dates are important because they explain why the facility today possesses both a grown character and a clear functional structure. Those interested in background and special features thus receive a real anchor point: the house has belonged to the place for decades and is therefore closely linked to the development of Dießen. Especially in a senior residence, such continuity is often a sign of quality because it indicates experience, established processes, and regional rooting. ([augustinum.de](https://augustinum.de/magazin/einrichtungs-news/artikel/55-jahre-augustinum-diessen-am-ammersee/))

Location and nature in Dießen are not just a backdrop but part of the living offer. The senior residence is situated on a slight slope on the edge of the town; from there, the view opens over the lake to the Kloster Andechs. The large in-house park is interspersed with walking and hiking paths and, according to the website, merges into the historic Schacky Park under old trees. The area covers 55,000 square meters of garden facilities, and there is also a pond, table tennis, and a bocce court. The town itself remains easily accessible: the center, the lake, and the ship landing stage are within walking distance, and there is a bus stop directly in front of the house. For people who appreciate nature and movement, this is a strong combination of scenic expanse and practical proximity. ([augustinum.de](https://augustinum.de/diessen-am-ammersee/))

The grounds also function as a space for everyday life. The website describes the large park as a place for Nordic walking or yoga, and the location is also suitable as a starting point for excursions into the Upper Bavarian lake landscape and the nearby Alps. This is more than just a marketing phrase: the paths are actually present, the surroundings are well developed, and the connection to the lake, the town, and nature is immediately tangible. For interested parties, this means that a quiet living place can be combined with an active environment. Especially since Dießen is a spa town and the landscape is so strongly shaped, a living feeling emerges that goes far beyond the mere apartment. The facility thus offers not only living space but also a framework for movement, walks, encounters, and retreat in one of the most distinctive regions of Upper Bavaria. ([augustinum.de](https://augustinum.de/diessen-am-ammersee/))

Cultural Program, Events, and Community

The Augustinum Dießen am Ammersee explicitly sees itself as an open house. The official cultural page clearly states that public events are not only intended for residents but also for guests from the neighborhood and the region. The cultural program in 2026 is under the annually changing motto VIELSTIMMIG, and this term describes the character of the house very well: it is about diversity, exchange, and different perspectives. In the event calendar, for example, there are evenings dedicated to Paul Gerhardt, the Schacky Park, Worpswede, the Vikings, string jumps, blues, and boogie-woogie, as well as a book and record market. The spectrum thus ranges from music and literature to history, art, and regional culture. The in-house theater hall is the central place for lectures, concerts, theater, and cinema evenings. ([augustinum.de](https://augustinum.de/diessen-am-ammersee/kultur-und-aktivitaeten/))

Continuity of this offer is also important. The website refers to a cultural newsletter that informs monthly about upcoming events. This keeps the program dynamic and continuously updated and communicatively accompanied. For interested parties looking for events, programs, or an active house, this is a strong signal: culture here is not an occasional extra but part of daily life. This is also evident in that the house has its own cultural and event spaces, club rooms, and a lecture hall on the levels. The combination of public openness, a regular calendar, and clear spaces for encounters makes the Augustinum Dießen a place where community becomes visible. Those interested in a lively environment will find here a house that not only enables exchange but actively organizes it. ([augustinum.de](https://augustinum.de/diessen-am-ammersee/kultur-und-aktivitaeten/))

Food, Café, Swimming Pool, and Leisure with a View of the Green

The gastronomy is another defining component of the house. The kitchen works with high-quality ingredients and cooks fresh daily. The lunch menu is flexibly structured, allowing for several starters, main courses, and desserts to choose from. The offer is complemented by breakfast service, coffee and cake, ice variations, and snacks on many evenings. Particularly pleasant is that guests can spontaneously select their menu at the table and eat in the restaurant not only functionally but in a well-kept atmosphere. The restaurant is designed with a view of the park, and in good weather, meals can be enjoyed on the sun terrace. For private celebrations, the house also offers support, provides rooms if possible, and caters with rolls, cakes, buffets, or festive menus. Thus, the gastronomy covers not only everyday life but also special occasions. ([augustinum.de](https://augustinum.de/diessen-am-ammersee/essen-und-geniessen/))

The leisure and health offerings are also unusually broad. The house includes a swimming pool with a 25-meter pool, sauna, and gym. The official page even emphasizes that the swimming pool is the only public indoor pool on the western shore of the Ammersee. In addition, there are therapy and health centers, physical therapy, beauty salon, pedicure, and further partner offers in the house. Another plus is the variety of everyday infrastructure: library, music room, chapel, shop, bank branch, hairdresser, and laundry service are located in direct proximity or in the building. In combination with the outdoor facilities, the park, the pond, table tennis, and bocce court, a living space emerges that can be used both actively and comfortably. The Augustinum Dießen am Ammersee is thus not only a place to live but a well-thought-out everyday carrier with tranquility, movement, and good supply. ([augustinum.de](https://augustinum.de/diessen-am-ammersee/))

A look at the services also shows how strongly service and quality of life interact. In addition to the restaurant offer, the house mentions balanced and varied cuisine, high-quality ingredients, changing additional offers, and festive menus. On the care and service side, there is a reception staffed around the clock, emergency call readiness, daily security checks, networking with doctors and physiotherapists, and an in-house care service. For residents, this means: life remains private and independent but not unprovided. Especially in a location by the lake that is both quiet and well-connected, this creates an overall picture that answers many inquiries about swimming pool, restaurant, culture, or garden. The residence combines enjoyment, movement, support, and community in a form that appears very distinctive in the region. ([augustinum.de](https://augustinum.de/diessen-am-ammersee/leistungen-und-kosten/))

Conclusion for Interested Parties Seeking Photos, Location, and Real Impressions

For the search for the Augustinum Dießen am Ammersee, three things are particularly decisive: the location on the southwestern shore of the Ammersee, the house that has grown over decades with a large park, and the unusually dense connection of living, culture, and service. This is precisely why search queries for photos, address, directions, parking, or reviews work so well together. Those who start online get a realistic first impression thanks to the official images. Those who look more closely recognize the broad housing offer, the short distances in the house, the theater hall as a cultural center, the restaurant with a park view, and the leisure offerings with swimming pool and sauna. Finally, those who are on-site experience a senior residence that cannot be reduced to representation but functions in everyday life. ([augustinum.de](https://augustinum.de/diessen-am-ammersee/))

Exactly therein lies the strength of the location: it is beautifully situated, well connected, and at the same time structurally very complete. Residents find apartments in different sizes, service and care as needed, cultural offerings in the house, and nature right at the door. Interested parties who want to get an authentic picture should therefore not only look for pictures but also consider the house tour, the cultural program, and the paths between the entrance area, park, and town center. The Augustinum Dießen am Ammersee clearly shows how a place to live for later life can look when comfort, independence, and regional integration are thought together. For many seekers, this is precisely the decisive difference between an address and a real home. ([augustinum.de](https://augustinum.de/diessen-am-ammersee/))

Saturday is warm bath day. It's good with kids. Affordable, so ideal for a quick swim or to practice with the kids. The heated loungers are cozy for a little rest. But it's just a simple swimming pool with nothing extra. For playing, kids have pool noodles available.

Just a swimming pool. That means a 25m pool and nothing else. But: heated benches, little traffic, very nice lifeguards, and swimming aids to borrow make it a good place to swim.

Nice smaller swimming pool (25m lane). You pay the entrance at the machine (currently 3 euros). Don't forget the parking meter!
