With swing, joy of life and first steps onto the dance floor
On October 24 and 25, 2026, the hall of the Protestant community center in Dießen am Ammersee will be transformed into a meeting point for everyone who wants to get to know Lindy Hop. The two-day beginner workshop combines music, movement, and dancing together – completely without any prior knowledge and also for individual registrations.
Lindy Hop: Swing history meets modern dance joy
Lindy Hop originated in the 1930s in the legendary Savoy Ballroom in Harlem, New York. This energetic partner dance combines elements from Charleston, jazz, and tap dance. Its particular strength lies in the interplay of clear basic steps, bouncing movement, and playful improvisation.
Two workshop days for a lively start
The workshop takes place on Saturday, October 24, and Sunday, October 25, 2026, each from 10 am to 3 pm. A lunch break is planned. Both workshop days build on each other and can only be booked together. The course is aimed at beginners; a dance partner is not required.
Movement, music, and shared learning experience
The focus is on the fundamentals of Lindy Hop: sense of rhythm, body coordination, leading and following, as well as first typical movement patterns of swing dance. The relaxed atmosphere allows for personal progress, joint experimentation, and joy in music.
A revival with great stage presence
Lindy Hop has been experiencing a revival for years. Movies like La La Land, series like Babylon Berlin, and dance shows like Let's Dance have introduced the swing style to a wide audience. The workshop in Dießen offers the opportunity to experience this dance culture and implement the first steps directly on the dance floor.
Conclusion: Experience swing and dance along
The Lindy Hop weekend workshop offers two intensive workshop days full of movement, rhythm, and good vibes. Those wanting to get to know swing dance from the ground up and feel the special stadium atmosphere of a dance event will experience a beginner-friendly start into the swing universe in Dießen.
