Silent Reading Party in Starnberg: Reading together, being with oneself
On Saturday, October 24, 2026, the Starnberg City Library invites you to a special break from digital everyday life. The Silent Reading Party focuses on quiet, concentrated reading in pleasant company.
A reading atmosphere without a stage
This literary experience intentionally dispenses with presentations, discussions, and a packed program. After a brief welcome, phones will be silenced, and then each visitor reads for themselves. It is precisely this silent togetherness that creates an intimate atmosphere, in which language, thoughts, and imagination gain their own space.
Your favorite book in focus
Whether novel, non-fiction, or e-reader: Everyone interested brings their current reading material along. The Silent Reading Party thus opens a low-threshold access to reading culture and connects individual reading time with the feeling of a literary community.
Three hours of concentrated reading time
From 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM, the Starnberg City Library creates a calm and comfortable atmosphere for all who wish to read without distraction. The format is aimed at experienced avid readers as well as those who want to pick up books more regularly in everyday life.
Conclusion: Experience literature as shared silence
The Silent Reading Party shows that joint reading does not require a loud event. Visitors can expect a free, relaxed reading time in unique company. Those who love books or wish to consciously create space for their own reading will experience a soothing afternoon in Starnberg filled with concentration, tranquility, and literary closeness.
