Women in Their Rooms 2026: An Opening Full of Beauty and Pain
The ArtSpaces at the Lake kick off their event series 2026 with a special evening in the salon of Villa Bayerlein in Starnberg. Under the title “Of Beauty and Pain,” two violins, poetic texts, and musical worlds will come together on Saturday, October 31, at 7 PM.
Musical Journey Across Eight Strings
Esther Schöpf and Beate Palier create an intense musical dialogue for two violins. The long-standing artistic friendship between the two musicians adds a personal and lively touch to the evening. A finely composed journey through different eras and styles emerges, blending baroque clarity, melancholic tones, and modern rhythms.
Bach, Mozart, Bartók, and the Beatles
The program thrives on surprising encounters: Works by Georg Philipp Telemann meet the Chinese tradition of Lady Meng Jiang, Mozart encounters Klezmer, and Béla Bartók merges with Irish music. Johann Sebastian Bach engages in a dialogue with blues, Anton Reményi with Bavarian folk music, and Astor Piazzolla or Carlos Gardel with compositions by John Lennon.
Poetic texts seamlessly blend into the evening, creating a concert between tradition and modernity, word and sound, light and shadow. The intimate atmosphere of the salon at Villa Bayerlein provides the perfect setting for this.
ArtSpaces at the Lake: Culture in Special Locations
“Women in Their Rooms” connects a total of six events in the StarnbergAmmersee region from October 31 to December 6, 2026. Concerts, readings, and an exhibition will focus on female life stories, friendships, and artistic perspectives. Cultural organizer Elisabeth Carr coordinates the series in collaboration with various cultural and educational institutions.
The opening will be followed by literary events focusing on Ulrike Meinhof and significant female church figures, an exhibition as part of Orange the World, as well as a Seasonal Concert with the jazz duo Grosch/Bublath. The series will conclude with a musical Advent evening at Haus Buchenried.
Conclusion: A Concert Evening for Curious Ears
Visitors can expect not an ordinary concert, but a concentrated multi-sound experience with strong contrasts, musical depth, and personal closeness. Those who appreciate special concert venues, artistic lineups, and the connection of music and literature will enjoy an atmospheric kickoff of the ArtSpaces at the Lake 2026 in Starnberg.
