Small Formats, Big Artistic Impact at the Blue House Dießen
From October 9 to 25, 2026, the cultural forum Blue House in Dießen am Ammersee will transform into a concentrated showcase of contemporary art. The producer exhibition The Small Format brings together around 40 regional and national artists. Painting, sculpture, photography, and installation engage in a lively dialogue, demonstrating how intense an aesthetic experience can be even in limited space.
The Art of Reduction
The exhibited works remain at a maximum size of about 40 × 40 centimeters. This formal limitation directs the viewing of the works towards visual language, materiality, surface, and compositional precision. Small picture carriers create an intimate exhibition atmosphere where colors, shapes, and structures become immediately experienceable.
Diversity of Artistic Positions
The exhibition brings together familiar and new voices of contemporary art. About two-thirds of the participating artists will be represented for the first time in 2026. Among the works are installations by art prize winner Andreas Kloker, works by conceptual artist and painter Guido Weggemann, and pieces by wood sculptor Nadine Elda Rosani. This results in a varied curatorial mix of painting, sculpture, photography, and installation.
Insights into the Artistic Process
A special program point awaits the audience on Sunday, October 11, 2026, from 3 to 5 PM with live painting by Max Ott. The immediate observation of the creation process expands the art experience by adding a performative dimension and makes visible how an independent work emerges from material, gesture, and decision.
Audience Award and Cultural Participation
The audience will have the opportunity to choose a personal favorite. Subsequently, the municipality of Dießen will purchase a work by the awarded artist. Thus, the exhibition connects aesthetic experience, cultural education, and concrete support for the regional art scene.
Opening and Opening Hours
The vernissage will take place on Friday, October 9, 2026, at 8 PM; entry begins at 7 PM. The exhibition will then be open on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from 2 PM to 6 PM. The initiator and artistic director is Annunciata Foresti. The producer exhibition is supported by the non-profit association Kunstformat e. V. and is understood as a self-initiated non-profit project.
Conclusion: Contemporary Art on an Intimate Scale
The Small Format 2026 shows how much expression, atmosphere, and conceptual breadth can lie within a small dimension. Visitors can expect a concentrated viewing of works with diverse positions, direct connection to the regional art scene, and exciting insights into artistic processes. A visit to the Blue House Dießen enriches cultural perception and opens new perspectives on contemporary art at Ammersee.
