#outthere: Between Indoor Space and the Wider World

The Starnberg Art Association invites you to the annual exhibition #outthere in the Schlossberghalle Starnberg from November 4 to November 11, 2026. The festive opening begins on Wednesday, November 4, at 7 PM and will be musically accompanied by Jazzy Moments2you with Claudia Dellian and Alfred Lorenz. Entry to the exhibition is free.

A Space Full of Perspectives

The theme #outthere opens a multifaceted space for thought and perception. Outside refers not only to nature, landscape, or urban space, but always arises in relation to an inside. The exhibited works direct attention to boundaries, transitions, belonging, and the question of how places shape our perception.

Painting, Sculpture, and Artistic Engagement with Locations

More than 60 artists present works from various positions in contemporary painting, sculpture, and artistic design. Some works focus on specific landscapes, urban areas, and peripheral zones. Others explore the moment of transition, where inside and outside meet. Human traces in nature and landscape as well as social spaces between encounter and demarcation also become visible.

Guest Artists from the Landsberg-Lech-Ammersee Artists' Guild

Invited as guest artists are the sculptors of the Landsberg-Lech-Ammersee Artists' Guild. The artist community, which has existed for over 90 years, enhances the exhibition with three-dimensional positions and places a special emphasis on material, volume, and spatial impact.

Cultural Education and Accompanying Program

The exhibition connects artwork appreciation with cultural education and active participation. The program includes, among other things, a free painting workshop with painter and instructor Charlotte Lorenz, a children's course, a watercolor workshop, an introduction to Instagram practice, a film evening about Giovanni Segantini, and an artist talk moderated by Prof. Claus Friede. A morning concert featuring young talents from the Starnberg music school complements the exhibition week.

Exhibition Atmosphere and Aesthetic Experience

In the Schlossberghalle, different visual languages, materials, and spatial perspectives meet. The exhibition invites visitors to re-experience the familiar contrast of inside and outside: as a play of closeness and distance, safety and openness, landscape and memory. This creates an art experience that connects sensual perception with art historical reflection.

Conclusion: Art as an Invitation to Departure

#outthere awaits visitors with a diverse annual exhibition, open discussion formats, and workshops for various age groups. Those wishing to experience contemporary art in its thematic breadth and sharpen their own perception will find an inspiring aesthetic experience in Starnberg. Visiting the exhibition is particularly worthwhile because the meaning of the outside is fully unveiled only in direct dialogue with the artworks.
