Mozart's Festive Concert Evening in the Klosterkirche Schäftlarn
With timpani, trumpets, and grand choral music, the season of the Schäftlarner Concerts concludes on Saturday, October 10, 2026. In the Klosterkirche Schäftlarn, two works from Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's youth meet the unique acoustics and sacred atmosphere of this historic house of worship.
Posthorn Signal and Orchestral Brilliance
At the center is Mozart's Serenade No. 9 KV 320, known as the Posthorn Serenade due to its characteristic posthorn signal. Festive brass colors, dance-like movements, and finely tuned orchestration give the work its unmistakable shine. The musical direction is taken by Michael Forster.
Mozart's Missa Longa in C Major
Additionally, the demanding sacred work, Missa Longa in C Major KV 262, composed by Mozart at the age of 19, will be performed. The choir and orchestra of the Schäftlarner Concerts combine precise conducting, vocal cohesion, and the warm resonance of the Klosterkirche to create an impressive concert experience.
Classical Music in a Historic Church Space
The Klosterkirche Schäftlarn provides the atmospheric setting for this Mozart evening. Amidst baroque spatial effects, radiant instrumental colors, and grand choral music, a concentrated live atmosphere emerges that makes classical music immediately tangible. The concert is expected to last until 9 PM.
Convenient Transportation to the Concert
A free shuttle bus departs around 6:30 PM from the Hohenschäftlarn S-Bahn station to the monastery. After the concert, the shuttle will return concertgoers to the S-Bahn. Tickets are available through München Ticket, at München-Ticket advance sales points, and at the box office.
Conclusion: Experience Mozart Live in a Unique Atmosphere
A festive season finale with posthorn signal, mass, choir, and orchestra awaits the audience in Schäftlarn. Those who wish to experience Mozart's music in a historic church space with immediate live impact will find a particularly atmospheric concert date this evening.
