Big band sound meets Petra Scheeser in Dießen
On Saturday, November 14, 2026, the Veronika-Fitz hall at the Wirtshaus fesch am Kirchsteig in Dießen am Ammersee will be transformed into a stage for energetic jazz, swing, funk, and jazz rock. The Hard Days Night Big Band, together with Petra Scheeser, presents a versatile best-of program with 17 musicians, powerful brass arrangements, and an expressive voice.
17 musicians, a full sound
The Hard Days Night Big Band has been part of the Munich big band scene since the early 1990s and regularly performs at the Jazzclub Unterfahrt. Its contemporary big band sound blends classic swing with funk, jazz rock, and powerful XXL fusion. Arrangements from the world of Bill Holman, Count Basie, and Peter Herbolzheimer meet modern sound colors and precise musical synchronization.
Petra Scheeser: strong voice with great stage presence
Petra Scheeser is one of the versatile voices in the German music scene. As a founding member of the pop group Wind, she achieved second place for Germany at the Eurovision Song Contest in 1985 and 1987. Today, she can be experienced live with the Hard Days Night Big Band, PAO, and Jacuzzi, among others. Her clear, powerful vocal line creates a striking contrast to the radiant brass and the rhythmic foundation of the big band.
Between swing, funk, and jazz rock
The concert promises a musical range with bouncing big band swing, grooving funk, and energetic jazz rock. The orchestrated power of the brass, the precise conducting, and the dynamic transitions between tutti passages and solo moments create an intense concert experience. The sound is not only to be heard but goes directly into the legs.
Dießen in the sign of jazz
Matthias Preissinger will ensure additional home advantage with musical direction, alongside Dr. Markus Buchmann as another Dießen band member. Preissinger was a former lecturer at a music college and led the band for over ten years. In the seated Veronika-Fitz hall, the audience can expect a focused live atmosphere with free seating, drinks available before the concert, during the break, and afterward.
Conclusion: Experience big band energy up close
The Hard Days Night Bigband feat. Petra Scheeser brings a varied jazz concert with a large lineup and noticeable playing joy to Dießen on November 14, 2026.
