Rick Kavanian meets Thorsten Otto: An evening full of stories, voices, and fine humor
When a comedian with a thousand voices meets a host who listens masterfully, more than just an ordinary talk show is created. During the TV recording of Mensch, Otto!, Rick Kavanian will be a guest on November 2, 2026, at the Groundlift Studio in Stegen on Lake Ammersee.
Comedy with Cinema History
Rick Kavanian has been one of the most recognizable faces in German comedy for decades. Together with Michael Bully Herbig, he shaped German cinema comedy with Der Schuh des Manitu, (T)Raumschiff Surprise – Periode 1, and Das Kanu des Manitu. His distinctive characters, his enormous vocal variety, and his precise timing made him a favorite with audiences.
Big Conversations instead of Small Punchlines
At Mensch, Otto!, it’s not just about quick gags. Thorsten Otto talks with Rick Kavanian about the beginnings of his career, collaboration with Bully Herbig, the creation of legendary film characters, and the challenges of a life between comedy, acting, dubbing, and stage.
The format combines personal conversations with that special comedy atmosphere, where a well-timed pause often has more impact than a finished punchline. Amidst memories, self-irony, and surprising insights, the person behind the comedian is revealed.
Live at a Real TV Recording
The audience experiences the show not from the cozy distance of their living room couch but directly in the studio. Cameras, lights, stage presence, and concentrated listening are all part of the laughter experience. The recording lasts from 19:00 to 20:30, with doors opening at 18:00.
Important for all guests: The program will be recorded in image and sound. By purchasing a ticket, visitors agree that the recordings may be published and utilized, even if they are recognizable in the audience.
VIP Experience with Meet&Greet
The VIP ticket includes a welcome drink, preferred seating, access to the Meet&Greet in the lounge, and photos in front of the photo wall. This makes the studio evening a particularly personal encounter with an artist who combines comedy, acting, and voice artistry.
Conclusion: Those who wish to experience Rick Kavanian not only as a legendary voice and cinema comedian but also as a versatile conversational guest will find a special evening at Mensch, Otto!. Secure your spot at the Groundlift Studio and experience comedy, timing, and real stories live on Lake Ammersee.
